NYC Yesterday and Today
Haven't been back in an age, but one of the things we like about New York is the sheer volume of art coming out of the place. Americans aside, it's no wonder that more than one foreign artist — Russian ballet dancers and British rock stars among them — has opted to make a home in our city among cities. At least, one of several homes; it's good being rich and famous, is it not? ("Yes, I'd like to defect to New York.")
But that was an aside; this is a short note about New York City. Web surfing (rather than travel or defection; sigh) brought us to NewYorkChanging.com, which features 50 pairs of photographs of New York then and now by photographers Berenice Abbott (then) and Douglas Levere (now). Nice.
