I am so sorry to hear about your cat, Amber.

We fed our cat, at least in his later years, Wysong cat food, up until he passed away at the grand old age of 22 years. Wysong was recommended to us by a friend (and also by our vet), and is made by a veterinarian; according to their website, "Dr. Wysong has a B.S. in biology and chemistry and a DVM in veterinary surgery and medicine".

This stuff is different, which you'll notice the first time you open a can. It actually smells like food (and not strangely like dog food, as some cat foods do).

I wrote about it here: Wysong.net - Healthy Food for Cats, and the first comment was posted by our friend, Lynn Cameron, who recommended Wysong to us and has been involved in the alternative health field for 35 years.

Also: Wysong.net

At any rate, good luck with your cat. I hope things turn out well.

I have had a very healthy cat for 7 years who all of a sudden had blood in his stool. This was after rejecting Wellness brand food that he had been eating, so I stitched him to Eagle Pak Holistic Select. He ate this for a while then started rejecting it. I thought it was the flavor so tried a different flavor of the same brand. He rejected it as well. i think that these two food brands need to be recalled as well. I am STILL working with my vet and trying to find a food that will not irritate him with diarrhea or blood in his stool!

Thanks, Phil. This is all such a shame, but at least they seem to be getting to the root of the problem.

So glad we switched Sammy to Wysong's a couple of years ago. As far as I understand it, they manufacture their own, and the quality isn't like any pet food I've ever seen.
