Save the White Deer

Sometimes the authorities-that-be do some pretty strange things, like killing off deer in Marin County … but we're proud to say that our friends at Friends of the White Deer are the kind to stand up and do something about it. From their newly launched (like, tonight) website:

In the summer of 2007, the National Park Service will begin exterminating our deer. The citizens of Marin County, California, the Marin Humane Society, In Defense of Animals, and WildCare respectfully request non-violent management of the deer instead of inhumane slaughter.

Lots of gorgeous pictures; lots of heartfelt outpourings.
